Brazil Country Manager

Marcos Gaio, Agronomist, graduated from the Federal University of Viçosa – MG - Brazil. He holds a post-graduate degree in Marketing and Advertising from ESPM – SP - Brazil, an MBA in Agribusiness from FGV, and International MBA from Ohio University - USA. Marcos has significant experience in Brazilian and international agribusiness. Marcos has worked for DuPont, FMC, Nufarm, and Gowan in Brazil, USA, Mexico, and whole Latin America in several positions including sales, marketing, and R&D. He has also served as a Board Director with four different companies across Latin America.

Recently, Marcos has been working as a technical consultant in the agricultural space, helping Monty's Plant Food grow its business across the world.

Gabriel Barros

Brazil Operations Manager

Gabriel Prado de Barros is a business executive with a marketing and finance background, as well as a third-generation family farming business. He holds a Master’s Degree in International Business from Hult International Business School in SF, Boston, and NYC (World’s most international business School, Top 10 Financial Times ranking), and a Postgraduate in Applied Consumer Sciences from ESPM (Brazil’s top university in marketing).

Gabriel's experience includes projects for multiple startups and corporations in a wide range of sectors, mainly focusing on agribusiness and investments. Currently, Gabriel works as the Brazilian Operation Manager for Monty's Plant Food, helping the company establish operations in Brazil.

João Pedro 

Technical Sales Assistant

João graduated from Faculdade Doutor Francisco Maeda (FAFRAM) with a degree in Agronomic Engineering. Following graduation, he interned at the multinational UPL as a Technical Sales Assistant (ATV) of agricultural defensives in the state of São Paulo with crops such as tomato, pepper, soy, corn, beans. João later joined Kuhlmann Technology and Monitoring Agricultural, where he focused on soybean harvest (genetic verification) in the state of Paraná. João has also served as a Technical Sales Assistant with Sumitomo Chemical, working directly with herbicides for pastures in the state of Pará.

During his time with Monty’s Plant Food,  his focus has been on developing commercial demo plots in the state of São Paulo. Currently, João continues his focus on demo plots and contributing to the sales funnel, while working toward his MBA in Commercial Management and Sales, language study (English), and more recently entering a degree in Administration.

Kevin P. Voss

President – International / Global Expansion

Kevin Voss is a Board member and co-founder of Monty’s. He is leading the global expansion team to expand Monty’s products and technologies.

Kevin’s experiences include executive management with Fortune 500 companies and being an entrepreneur. He is a seasoned professional growing business relationships and networks. He has a depth of global reach working with both private and public sectors, including the United Nations, various Governmental Agencies, and Non-Government Organizations.

Kevin has a worldwide passion for food security by improving soil health and increasing crop yields. He is an accomplished and savvy leader with a positive impact.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys outdoor sports and spending time with his family, five children, and five grandkids.

Marcel Barbier

International Chief Technical Lead

Dr Barbier is a soil-plant scientist with 20+ years of experience in the development, enhancement, and marketing of products for the conventional and organic markets.  He has a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, a Master's Degree in Crop Protection in the International Commerce, and a Doctorate in Soil and Plant Science, with minor in Plant Health Management.  Dr. Barbier has experience working with vegetables, row crops, orchards, and tropical crops.  He has has worked for multinational companies such as Chiquita, Monsanto, Bayer, Syngenta, Stockton, and Rio Tinto (US Borax). In 2010 Dr. Barbier founded a consultancy company that is focused on helping companies develop and launch products.

Since early 2020, Dr. Barbier has been serving Monty’s Plant Food as International Chief Technical Lead, focusing on assessing products and teaching farmers about the benefits of Monty’s Activated Humic substances and how these products improve soil health and nutrients stabilization... therefore increasing crops yield and quality.

U.S. Amb. Gregory Newell 

Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State (Vice Minister) & Former U.S. Ambassador

Ambassador Newell is an International Business Development Strategist with access to extensive domestic and international networking of senior governmental officials, and business professionals across industries and sectors.  Greg has first-hand, on-the-ground experience, and knowledge of governmental, political, commercial, and humanitarian issues in 110+ countries.

Greg served as the United States Ambassador to Sweden from 1985-1989 and accomplished the first White House State visit between the U.S. and Sweden in 36 years.  He restored balance to U.S./Swedish commercial accounts, working directly with leaders across diverse industries, and was the youngest U.S. Ambassador to have served since 1779.

Greg served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State (Vice Minister) with the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. from 1982-1985.  As Senior Governmental Official, he was responsible for the formulation and execution of U.S. Multilateral Foreign Policy in 96 International Organizations, i.e., United Nations; World Bank, Global Regional Development Banks, IMF, International Energy Agency (IEA), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), WHO, ICRC, ITU, UNHRC, UNICEF, etc.  He managed a $2B+ budget, a staff of 524, including 11 accredited Ambassadors. Greg headed U.S.official delegations to 60+countries to advance strategic, political, economic, and humanitarian interests and served as Senior U.S. Advisor to 37th, 38th, 39th, and 40th United Nations General Assemblies.

Between 1972 and 1981, Greg served the White House in many roles for Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan.

Greg is an integral part of Monty’s International team and is instrumental to Monty’s in making introductions to embassy officials in other countries, assisting Monty’s in working with the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Commerce.

Greg’s faith and family are most important to him. He’s married and has 6 married children and 17 grandchildren.
