Er hat einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Agronomie, einen Master-Abschluss in Pflanzenschutz im internationalen Handel und einen Doktortitel in Boden- und Pflanzenwissenschaften mit einem Nebenfach in Pflanzengesundheitsmanagement.  Dr. Barbier hat Erfahrung mit Gem\u00fcse, Reihenkulturen, Obstg\u00e4rten und tropischen Pflanzen.  Er hat f\u00fcr multinationale Unternehmen wie Chiquita, Monsanto, Bayer, Syngenta, Stockton und Rio Tinto (US Borax) gearbeitet.
